Posted on Sep 4th, 2006 by Wendy : Kindred Spirit Wendy
How to participate: 1) Join holy memes and kosmic blog starters and check it out every Friday for a different set of five questions. 2)Copy and paste those questions (and this message!) into your blog. 3)Tag your entry with the words “Friday Five” and post it. 4) Come backto the pod and tell us about your post. 5) Message suzanne with ideas for next week. Let's spread the seeds!

1) If time and money were not an issue, where would you go, for how long, and why?
I would go to Viet Nam with my parents. That is where I was born and I would like to visit this place and have my parents show me the culture. As a kid, I have always wanted to visit Africa too, Kenya in particular but I would just love to experience the culture. Those are the two places I would like to go. For how long - I would love to go for at least a month to each place.

2) What do you love about travelling? I love meeting people, seeing the different geography and discovering the similarities of the cultures despite the surface differences.

3) What do you not love about travelling? I don't like living out of a suitcase but I usually don't have much to complain about when traveling. It's something that calls me and I intend to travel to each continent before my time here expires.

4) Out of all the places you've been, what are your top travel destinations? Why? I have a huge affinity for France. I love the vastness of the geography of that country. I also have yet to find a rude French person (contrary to popular belief). I love the language too!

5) Where have you been that you would caution other people to avoid? Why? I don't have any cautions of any place I've been.

Travel questions extended

Posted on Sep 4th, 2006 by Wendy : Kindred Spirit Wendy
These are questions taken from Kira's blog.

The Questions:

1) What is the most beautiful or striking landscape you've seen from the air? The Carribean Sea on my way to Venezuela.

2) What has traveling made you appreciate that you didn't before?
I appreciate the people and the similarities we all share. I loved travelling because I loved to experience the different cultures but the more I've travelled, the more I realise that there are so many similarities beneath the differences.

3) What has been your most memorable travel experience? Venezuela. It was the most spontaneous trip I've ever had. I booked my plane tickets. The rest was left to synchronicity and the Universe.

4) Is there something you always take friends and visitors to see in your hometown?
In my home town - I'd take them to the Rockies.

5) Is there anything you like to collect on trips? I like to collect rocks.

6) What's your next destination for fun? I always like to mix in fun with business. I have a few trips coming up - Vegas, Miami, San Diego.

7) What is a wild travel adventure you dream of going on?
I would love to explore the continent of Africa and each of the countries.

Ramble

Have you ever wanted to blog about everything and nothing at the same time? I feel compelled to blog right now but don't know where to start. I have been going through a lot of introspection lately, meditating lots. I've had moments of sheer bliss and other moments of deep sadness. Emotional attacks is what I call them. Sometimes, I don't know why I get this overwhelming sense of sadness and other times, I know it's due to an image on the TV (which I've been cutting out lately) or talking to someone and feeling their emotions. It scares me.

Today, the moments of bliss are present.

Until recently

Posted on Sep 19th, 2006 by Wendy : Kindred Spirit Wendy
When I was in junoir high (middle school) as it's known here in the US, I was experiencing all the insecurities that teenagers go through. One night, as I was laying in bed, unable to sleep, thinking about who liked me, which friend to trust, not being like everyone else, etc. I got out of bed and I wrote a note to myself. The details of the note elude me today but I know that after I wrote this, I was able to return to bed and fall fast asleep. I remember going back to this note each night for a long time. Even years later, I came upon this note as I was cleaning up my desk and what I had written still rang true.

I believe that this was the first time I felt the presence of my higher being, my spirit guides, and angels helping me through periods of insecurity. Over the years, because of my focus and conditioning on science and rationality, I lost contact with my higher self, guides and angels....until recently. I know that I have always had the guides and angels around me. Through the years, I have had signs but I have not always been open to them...until recently.

I am learning to be open to all of my experiences and learning that I don't always require hard physical evidence to know something is true.
